Our music is an heir to the legacy of heavy metal and grunge, with a hint of sludge, stoner, and progressive rock.
Intricate guitar motifs and chunky bass lines fortified by ominous-sounding drums with raspy expressive vocals on top is their sound. The lyrics reflect the naked thoughts of a fragile but honest self, bringing the dark elements of the human soul to the surface in the most beautiful form, through poetry and music.
The band released their debut album Flesh and Form on September 23, 2022. It was preceded by five singles, four music videos, and “Live at King Oliver” EP released in both audio and video format.
Stain started initially as a cover band, but original songs gradually replaced covers on their setlists. The band eventually teamed up with skillful producer Danilo Orbovic at Orvel Studios to record the album, while the industry expert Maor Appelbaum mastered the recording. The release has garnered 5k streams on Spotify (consider that people in Serbia mostly use Tidal or Deezer as these come for free with phone/internet plans), while total video views on YouTube amount to 65k.
Press
“It must be wannabe Nirvana or Pearl Jam, a band that has long since abandoned its original sound. And there you will be pleasantly surprised. They found themselves through the music of these bands, but their sound gravitates more towards the slower and somewhat darker ones, such as Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains.” – Helly Cherry
“An indescribable emotion penetrated through the bodies of the audience and drew them into the imaginary world of the musicians who are in tune with each other. Words are not enough to describe it.” – Balkanrock
